Today's topic is: Photo Editor: Gimp
'Photo editing software are software used to manipulate or enhance digital images. This category of software ranges from basic apps, which are able to apply simple effects, to industry-standard programs used by professional photographers for more advanced needs.'
One great phot editor is Gimp. Gimp can do many things to enhance and image, including:
- Color balance - adjusts the levels of intensity across the color spectrum.
- Exposure - adjusts how much brightness or light is applied to the photo.
- Noise/grain - indicates the level of detail or distortion between pixels.
- Saturation - indicates the dramatic appearance of all colors.
- Cropping - adjusts the dimensions of the image using crop and perspective tool
- Burning/dodging - adjusts the contrast between lightness and darkness
- Transparent - can make the background or selected area more transparent
- Paint - includes brush, clone stamp, healing tool, gradient and blend tool
- Remove Objects - remove objects as if they were never there using select, healing, and blend tool
- Fix defects - using the healing and clone stamp
- Create realistic montages - Cut and paste images while removing backgrounds

Gimp really is an amazing software for photo editing. It feels great to see the end result!
