Today's topic is: Multimedia
Multimedia is a form of Media Arts that combines images, video, text, audio, or animations together in one interactive representation through the media. Most multimedia files end with a {.swf, .wav, .mp3, .mp4, .mpg, .wmv, and .avi}.
Note:
Multimedia should not be confused with Mass Media; Mass Media addresses a large audience with 1 medium of media whereas Multimedia does not necessarily address a large audience but uses more than 1 medium of media at once. Also, Mass Media is not interactive whereas Multimedia is interactive with its audience.
*Mass Media may use multimedia; for e.x, news websites, because they use a combination of text, images, video, and sometimes audio*
There are 5 main components of Multimedia, which are combined to form this type of Media Arts:
- Text - Images - Audio - Video - GIFs and other animation
The word 'Multimedia' was first used in 1962 and defined as "using, involving or encompassing several media." The concept of Multimedia can be traced all the way back to 1884, when German Technician Paul Nipkow developed the first video disc. He combined his video disc with Guglielmo Marconi's radio components yielding the Nipkow system, creating the first video with audio. People developed the invention, and made other great inventions, including films. The Outcome? The over blast of multimedia today!
In my opinion, Multimedia is a very good term to define multiple forms of media. And it really is a great way of capturing your audiences' attention!

Multi-Media is a complicated topic as it involves lots of types of media all in one. I like the information you put in this post and how explained in an easier manner.
